An appeal to the Kazakhstan High Court on behalf of the imprisoned leaders of the Zhanaozen oil-workers’ strike, has been turned down. Rosa Tulataeva, who is seriously ill, has to serve out her five years without remission. Other leaders are also forced to serve their full sentences. Only some six ‘participants’, as opposed to leaders, have been conditionally freed.
Please protest this vicious decision by the Kazakhstan authorities, who want to cower workers into submission by maintaining the harshest punishment for strike leaders. (See other articles on this site)
