On 4 march 2013 a group of protesters including activists from Campaign Kazakhstan, German Left Party Die Linke, trade unions such as ver.di and GEW, and kazakh artist, Raushan Tolganbayeva, was joined by Ainur Kurmanov, president of the independent trade union federation, Zhanartu, who is currently forced to living in exile. A picket was organised in front of the Kazakh embassy in Berlin.
The protesters strongly condemned the ongoing repression against workers and social activists, especially the 12 year prison sentence against Vadim Kuramshin, and demanded the immediate halt of all those measures and the unjust convictions.
